The Araceli Aid Foundation’s Obeagu Borehole Drilling Project is a critical initiative that will provide clean, safe water to the residents of the Obeagu community. This project will have a transformative impact, improve their health, save them time and money.

PROJECT PROBLEM

The Obeagu Awkunanaw community in Enugu State, Nigeria, does not have enough access to clean water. As a result, residents must walk long distances to collect water from these few water sources available to them and often time spend so much resources in order to purchase clean water

target audience

The target audience for this project is the recipients residents within the Obeagu Awkunanaw community in Enugu State, Nigeria.

The solution to this problem is to drill new boreholes within the community at strategic and accessible points that will provide clean and safe water for the residents of the area. These boreholes will be capable of producing 10,000 liters of water per day. The water will be tested to meet all safety standards.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The goals and objectives of this project are to:

  • Drill new boreholes in the Obeagu Awkunanaw community in Enugu State, Nigeria.
  • Provide clean water for the residents of the Obeagu Awkunanaw community.
  • Improve the health of residents.
  • Save residents time and money.
  • Protect the environment.

IMPLEMENTATION

The project will be implemented in the following steps:

  • A hydrogeologist will be hired to survey the area and identify the best location for the boreholes.
  • A drilling company will be hired to drill the two boreholes.
  • The water from the boreholes will be tested and treated to ensure that it meets all safety standards for clean water.
  • The boreholes will be equipped with pump, water tanks and power supply.
  • The water from the boreholes will be available to the residents of the community at no cost.

The project is scheduled to start on 08/06/2023.

END DATE

Due to the dynamic nature of the events in the south eastern part of Nigeria, the project end date has not been ascertained but it is still ongoing.

20000 for each Borehole Drilled
